Thursday 8th November – walks **** – Two Felixstowe prom walks – Sunny and very cold.

Walk 1.

Looked out of the window at 6.30 to see a good frost so decided to walk down to Felixstowe seafront to catch the sunrise leaving home at 7.30 well wrapped up but you rarely get a really big frost here on the coast as the sea is too warm still around 10 degrees. So, with hardly a cloud in the sky just a line on the horizon and only the lightest frost despite it being 0 degrees I thought getting a photo that shows how cold it was going to be difficult:( So I decided to walk to The Fludgers giving time for the sun to come up with several open water swimmers braving the cold, a man fishing from an canoe as well as dog walkers and joggers enjoying the winter sunshine! I got to the boats on the beach at The Fludgers which were covered in frost and there was a Detectorist busy near the A frame breakwater, we had a nice chat and he agreed for me to talk some pics and I got some nice ones as the sun appeared, he worked at Felixstowe docks and knew Simon Chippington:) I slowly walked back snapping away at the frost covered beach huts and was lucky enough to get on ITV’s About Anglia, that’s two days in a row, must be on a roll! Then home for some warming porridge, sort out my pics before doing my exercises.

Walk 2.

After lunch Mag and I headed for the prom again around 2.30, it was lovely and quiet, the offshore breeze was light making it ideal for walking as we made it all the way to the end at The Fludgers end. Walking back, we had the setting sun in our eyes as the sun disappeared. We then walked back through the town hoping to spot some more wire angels made by local artist Tracy! Home to light the fire and have a warming cuppa!
